Book Launch is Thursday. This Thursday. Tomorrow.

I’m not saying that if you don’t come to my book launch Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Canadian Motor Hotel on Pim Street this masked guy will show up at your door the next day toting a chainsaw. But hey, anything’s possible.

Play it safe, show up and buy a book, Sex is a Four-Letter Word and Other Misconceptions, for $15. I’ll donate $1 of that to the Susan Barber Memorial Bursary. And I’m asking those who want their copy signed to make a donation to the Soup Kitchen. Snacks will be served, but you’re on your own for booze; my offshore holdings in the Cayman Islands are not as extensive as you might imagine.

It has also been confirmed that I’ll be doing a reading (hopefully more of a Q and A) at the main branch of the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library, Thursday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. Free. More details later.

Payback time

Sandra Hodge is a remarkable person who has given more than most to her community. She’s always been a strong supporter of my creative efforts. Time for the community to give back, I’d say. If you’d rather help her out than buy my book, that’s OK. Naturally, though, I’d like you to do both. Here’s the GoFundMe page.

Always a Handmaid

In the wake of the publication of my first book (see “previous” elsewhere on this page), I’m toying with a column comparing me to Margaret Atwood. What do you think? Separated at birth?
