As of Dec. 1, Sex is a Four-Letter Word and Other Misconceptions is now available at three retail outlets in Sault Ste. Marie. I’m delighted that The Rad Zone in Wellington Square Mall has agreed to stock the book. My favourite source of used CDs, The Rad Zone is a strong supporter of the arts and of local music, with a huge selection of CDs by local artists. It also sells books by local authors. @theradzone.com
John and Rosina Bruni and family at City Meat Market, est. 1910, on Queen Street have also agreed to carry the book. Ask for it at the counter. I’ve enjoyed their products and great service for a number of years. @citymeatmarket.com
And first to stock the book was Stone’s Office Plus on Queen Street, another local family-owned business that istaking on the big boxes. https://stonesofficesupply.ca
Three options for those who prefer to shop in a store rather than through the website or by contacting me. And I’ll be happy to autograph books bought through those outlets. Just contact me.
On this #GivingTuesday I’m grateful that sales of my book have resulted in donations of more than $300 for the Soup Kitchen and the Susan Barber Memorial Bursary. Part of that was a portion of my proceeds. But the lion’s share came from generous readers responding to requests that they donate as a “price” for my signing their books. Also collected enough food donations to fill 3 blueboxes. Many thanks. I highly recommend dropping in to the soup kitchen to see what they do, who they serve and what they need. In other news, planning to do a Facebook live interview with Marnie Stone. First placement of my book in her store, Stone’s Office Plus, sold out so we restocked the shelves. Might have another retail outlet soon.
Nadine Robinson’s cat Reese thinks my book is the cat’s ass. Those of us in the newspaper business are inured to our work being recycled by pet owners, but I thought a book might be treated with a little more respect. Hope you all keep your claws retracted Thursday, Nov. 23, when I read at the main branch of the Sault Public Library at 7 p.m. And dare I say Sex is a Four-Letter Word and Other Misconceptions could be Christmas catnip for any kitty on your list.
